Policies and Procedures
It is the parents responsibility, per Texas Law, to monitor their child’s work and achievements. This is a partnership!
Arrive to class on time.
Students, be prepared for class with all supplies, ready to learn.
Students participate in class during discussion times.
Let the teacher know if the student will be absent.
If sick, please stay home or we can consider moving to Zoom.
If your family is healthy, attendance is expected. (Needs to be fever free for 48 hrs)
If absent it is the child’s responsibility (with the parent’s help depending on age) to make sure the agenda sheet is obtained for that week and work is still completed. Can email the teacher. Please let the teacher know as soon as possible, I understand emergency situations.
Turn in assignments on time
Homework quality counts!
It is the student’s responsibility, along with parent oversight, to follow the weekly agenda and not get behind. Plan ahead, and allot time during the week to work on assignments.
Treat the teacher and all classmates with respectful actions and words.
Example:
No talking over the teacher during instruction.
No negative, derogatory words towards the teacher or peers.
There are no “stupid” questions and we will not respond negatively to questions asked.
Respect the property of all those in class and the facility.
The student’s area will be cleaned before leaving class.
If a test is assigned to complete at home, parents provide oversight for this (no cheating, that only hurts the child in the long run).
No electronic devices are out during class. Kids can keep them in their backpacks and can ask the teacher to use them if needed to reach an adult.
Dress modestly: no stomachs, no bra straps, shorts/pants on the waist…you get the idea.
Drinks and Food in Class:
Water with a closable lid is okay in class. All other drinks and food are not allowed.
No energy drinks, alcohol, nicotine, or illegal substances are allowed on the property.
Parents are in charge of documenting any grades given. Because our classes are not high school transcript level, the parents can decide how they want to document any grades, report cards, etc.
If additional tutoring is requested, this will be done at the tutoring rates provided on this website.
Disciplinary structure:
1. Warning to student
2. Discussion with student and parent together
3. Student Dismissal with no refund for the month
