Learn about Galilee Scholars!

Hello!

Thank you for checking out Galilee Scholars and taking the time to discover more about who we are, our homeschool journey, and my teaching background.

Who We Are:

Tim and I met each other at 11 years of age. We grew up going to church together, attending summer camps, and having our families hang out together. We were friends during all these years but did not date until college. Dating led to getting married and we have hit the 2-decade mark. Along the way, we have been chosen to raise 2 amazing kids. Our family loves animals and currently has 3 dogs, Charlie, Mercy (Mercy is a tripod) and Archer, a guinea pig named Sully, and a hamster named Stripes.

Homeschool Journey:

We are a second-generation homeschool family and have been in the homeschool community for 30+ years. My parents started this homeschool journey when I was in the 6th grade and we continued through graduation. After high school, I furthered my education at Texas A&M University and graduated in 2004 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Once our own kids came school-age, we decided to homeschool them and continue to be part of this amazing community.

Teaching Background:

At 16 as I was volunteering at an arts program, with kids, on Saturdays. My desire grew to be a teacher and I have continued to follow this path. This path has placed hundreds of kids in my heart and brings such joy and excitement. I have had the privilege of teaching in public and private schools, homeschool classes, private tutoring, and of course my own kids. I am looking forward to working with your child(ren) and us walking on their path together.
